You can sustain TCU for future generations through your endowment gift

When you make a gift in support of TCU’s endowment, you guarantee that some of your greatest achievements lie in the future. That’s because you will enable generations to come to benefit from a world-class, values-centered education.

By helping to educate leaders who can change the world, you can have an influence on the kind of world it will be. Merging your interests with opportunities within the University, you can help to solve societal problems, such as helping at-risk children or ensuring the nation’s energy supply. You can make an impact in areas that are truly important to you.

As TCU has increasingly grown in stature and substance, a strong endowment has been a key enabling force. With your gift, you can perpetuate and strengthen this force for excellence. You can choose to create endowed funds to establish permanent support for scholarships, faculty positions and University programs. Or you might wish to provide support that gives TCU the flexibility to address priorities that may shift over time.

By making an endowment gift, you will be “buying shares” in TCU’s future. The University’s endowed investment pool operates in a manner similar to a mutual fund.

Donor contributions are more important to the University's future than investment returns alone can possibly be. Together, we can grow TCU's endowment, which will strengthen our ability to impact the world and to grow in national prominence.

When you donate assets to an endowed fund, your gifts “buy shares” in the investment pool. The pooled assets of the endowment are invested in perpetuity.

Approximately 5 percent of the average market value of the endowment is spent each year. In 2013, the spending rate is 5.5 percent, making an impact on the annual budget of about $57 million and giving TCU more flexibility with tuition.

The remaining earned income is added back to the principal so that it continues to grow and provide financial support for future generations. The amount required to establish your endowed fund will depend upon the purpose you choose.

You can be confident that TCU’s endowment is wisely invested and will support current and future excellence for the purpose you choose. TCU has been nationally recognized for outstanding endowment management in both strong and challenging economic climates.

The size of a university’s endowment generally tracks positively with its reputation for excellence. TCU’s endowment is valued at about $1.2 billion, making it the 60th largest university endowment in the United States. Donor contributions, however, are more important to the University’s future than investment returns alone can possibly be.

Together, we can grow TCU’s endowment, which will strengthen our ability to impact the world and to grow in national prominence.
