TCU is preparing for the return of the Horned Frogs. In the coming month, approximately 4,600 of them will move into campus residence halls.

“I love the excitement that move-in brings,” said Mindy Hollan, associate director of housing. “It means our students are back on campus and a new academic year is starting. Students are so excited to see each other after spending the summer apart, and their energy is electrifying.”

This year, of course, continues the recognition of TCU’s 150th anniversary and a semester full of celebration, and, for returning Horned Frogs, move-in will look very similar to last year. Students will move in on the following dates:

Sunday, Aug. 6
Band leaders, drum corps and colorguard
Cheer and Showgirls
Community Scholars (incoming first-year)
Frog Camp Challenge A (non-local)
International students
Women participating in Work Week

Saturday, Aug. 12
August orientation
Band members
Frog Camp Challenge B
ROTC
Sorority recruitment participants

Wednesday, Aug. 16
First-year students
Returning students
Fraternity chapter facility residents

TCU operates a staggered move-in and a systematic process on move-in days with specific time assignments located in each student’s housing portal. Housing & Residence Life publishes a detailed move-in guide full of instructions, tips and more, which also can be found on the Housing & Residence Life website.

Move-in is followed by Frogs First, a weekend of events tailored to first-year students, as well as Chancellor’s Assembly to commence the academic year, the Campus Commons Celebration to connect all Horned Frogs and the Welcome Home Celebration to mark the first day of classes Aug. 21.
