Holiday stamps were stocked, and workers prepared for the season.

“Our busy elves in the TCU Post Office are ready,” said Andy Easley, manager of mail services.

In contrast to last year, holiday packages are forecasted to be on schedule.

“No carriers are anticipating any delays,” Easley said. “The major carriers did not hire as many seasonal workers, which tells us that capacity is matching demand.”

This year, Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, which means the United States Postal Service will recognize Dec. 26 as the holiday, so there will be no regular mail delivery or retail services either day. The USPS has quoted Dec. 17 as the last day for First Class mail to arrive by Christmas. Dec. 19 is the last day quoted for Priority Mail to make it to contiguous U.S. destinations by the holiday, and the only guaranteed method is Priority Mail Express, which must be shipped by Dec. 23 to arrive to contiguous U.S. destinations by Christmas Day.

The TCU Post Office is available to the entire campus community. The mail center can ship USPS, can accept packages with pre-paid UPS packages and offers discounts up to 70 percent on FedEx. Workers will weigh packages and quote the best price available.

The mail center is located in the Brown-Lupton University Union on the first floor, next to Chick-fil-A. The TCU Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 20. Have a present you need to ship back? They will reopen Jan. 4.
