Whoa! University Drive construction on hold for Stock Show

Construction south of I-30 on University Drive is on hold in anticipation of crowds visiting the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

Starting Jan. 13, all lanes on South University Drive are open to accommodate visitors to the city.

The project calls for University Drive to become a six-lane road divided by a raised median with parking and bike lanes planned on Old University Drive. Pedestrian-friendly crosswalks and improved bus stops are also part of this two-phase improvement project.

This first phase of construction is near the Fort Worth Zoo, shopping and dining spots and the Trinity River trails.

Work will continue following the Stock Show. Phase 1 is expected to be completed in March of this year.
