Join Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. and President Daniel W. Pullin to kick off Opening Weekend with a special event just for faculty and staff that will include lunch, award recognitions and entertainment.

Things To Know Before You Go

Attire
It’s the final day of summer dress! Attire is your choice, but, remember, Fridays are for going purple!

Parking
Walking is a great option, but for those driving over, faculty/staff may park in Lots 3, 4, 6 or the parking garage.

Shuttle
The new expanded parking shuttle will be running. With pickups approximately every 15 minutes, the shuttle traveling the South University route will make stops at Frog Alley, Lot 7, the library and Lot 4. The North University route will make stops at Frog Alley, Miller Speech, Landreth Hall, Jarvis Hall, Palko, Brown-Lupton and Lot 4. Additionally, both shuttles will stop at the BLUU between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Seating
There will be ample options for seating. The arena will be open for seating during programming and, following, for eating and entertainment. Limited table seating is also available for dining in the concourse.

Dining
Lunch will be available after the event program at 12 food service stations in the concourse. To ease the flow, event greeters will guide and dismiss each section to grab food. Faculty and staff are invited to eat either in the arena during entertainment or in limited seating on the concourse. For gluten free or vegetarian lunches, ask the Sodexo employee at any food station.

Accessibility
A Spanish language interpretation will be available. A sign language interpreter will be on-site. Accessible seating will be available at both luncheon tables on the concourse and in the arena for programming. Additionally, shuttles are running and available (see above). Need help? Locate an event greeter for assistance.

Entertainment
The opening program will include messages from Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. and President Daniel W. Pullin as well as recognition for prestigious university awards and an overall welcome and opening to fall 2023. Head back into the arena to enjoy post-program entertainment while you dine! Entertainment is provided from one of TCU’s own, Bryan Lucas, chief technology officer, and his band.
