12 Horned Frogs Headed to NFL Playoffs

23 TCU players have won Super Bowl championship rings

FORT WORTH -- Twelve former TCU football student-athletes are headed to the NFL playoffs with their respective teams.

Defensive end Jerry Hughes, a two-time consensus All-American (2008-09) and the 2009 Lott IMPACT Trophy and Ted Hendricks Award winner, is a member of the Houston Texans. In his 14th NFL season, Hughes is the longest tenured TCU player among the 27 in the league.

Twenty-three TCU players have won Super Bowl championship rings, including 12 different in the last 17 seasons. 

Offensive linemen Lucas Niang (Kansas City Chiefs), Joe Noteboom (Los Angeles Rams) and Halapoulivaati Vaitai (Detroit Lions) are active players who have already won a Super Bowl. Vaitai's ring came with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

TCU has had at least one player in the Super Bowl in nine of the last 10 seasons.
