FORT WORTH – TCU head women's tennis coach Lee Taylor Walker has announced Courtney Collins-Guentner as a new Assistant Coach effective immediately. 
 
"Courtney was a major factor in our success last season and is going to continue to be a key asset this year," Walker said. "Her ability to relate to the players and their goals and challenges on and off the court is so valuable. To have someone with her experience able to coach in her own unique way, while remaining aligned in our core values and principles is something I don't take for granted."
 
Collins arrived at TCU as a volunteer in 2022. In her first year as a Horned Frog, she led the women's tennis team to historic marks, including the inaugural NIT National Championship title. 
 
"I am beyond excited to be back on the court alongside Lee and Patrick this spring," Collins said. "There aren't many programs that have such a talented coaching staff to be able to work with, so for that I am extremely thankful. I am equally eager to start coaching the girls on court. This team has worked hard to come together, and I cannot wait to see what they achieve for the program this year."
 
Collins played college tennis at the University of Memphis where she became the first Lady Tiger to advance to the NCAA Championships and second to be nationally ranked in singles. She completed her collegiate career with 95 singles wins, ranking second all-time at Memphis, as well as 74 career doubles victories, ranking seventh. Her 29 singles wins in 2011 ties for fifth in single-season singles victories at Memphis. As senior captain, she led her team to a top 25 ranking and NCAA team appearance.
 
A member of the All-C-USA Singles list all four years she achieved a program-high singles ranking of No. 21 and No. 18 in doubles with Kelly Gray. She was named the ITA Ohio Valley Region Senior of the Year as well as C-USA Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In 2012, she was Awarded the ITA Ohio Valley Region Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship and the C-USA Spirit of Service Award.
 
Following her collegiate career she was hired on as the Middle Tennessee State women's tennis assistant coach. In her first year she led the Blue Raiders to a 10-5 record and to the first round of the Conference USA Championship. Two of her athletes, Costanzaa Megazzini and Lidia Burrows, were named to All-C-USA Singles lists at the end of the season.
 
Collins and her husband, Andreas Guentner, a former soccer standout at Memphis, welcomed their son, Luca, to their family in August 2023.
