Sullivan Returns to TCU as Associate Head Coach

Served as volunteer assistant coach for TCU in 2021-22

FORT WORTH – TCU head women's tennis coach Lee Taylor Walker announced the hire of Patrick Sullivan as associate head coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Sullivan most recently served as the Horned Frogs' volunteer assistant coach during the 2021-22 campaign. A Houston native, Sullivan boasts more than 20 years of coaching experience.

"I have been very fortunate to work with some great people and excellent coaches," Walker said. "I'm beyond excited to continue that process with Patrick. He's had a lot of success at every program he's been a part of, and I know he will elevate us to new heights. I look forward to implementing some of his new ideas in every facet of the job. But it's not just Patrick that I'm pumped about joining our team- I'm equally enthusiastic about his entire family- Caroline, his wife of 16 years, and his three daughters, Vera, Maya, and Diana."

Prior to his initial TCU tenure, Sullivan enjoyed a yearlong stint as the associate head coach of his alma mater, Texas A&M, in 2015-16. With Sullivan serving as the Aggies' top assistant, Texas A&M posted a 17-11 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

A veteran of the sport, Sullivan brings five years of Division I head coaching experience to Fort Worth. He served as head coach at Houston from 2012-2015 following a two-year run at the helm of Stephen F. Austin.

"My family and I are so excited to be back at TCU and very grateful to Lee and Kim Johnson for the opportunity," Sullivan said. "Lee has built a first-rate program with high-character student-athletes and staff. I feel very fortunate to be a part of it and can't wait to get started."

In 2015, Sullivan was named the Wilson/ITA Texas Region Coach of the Year after directing the Cougars to a 22-6 record, including a 9-1 mark against American Athletic Conference opponents and a school-record 11 victories over nationally ranked teams. Sullivan amassed a 56-23 (.709) combined overall record while at Houston.

Sullivan began his rise up the coaching ladder in assistant coaching roles at Arkansas and SMU, where he helped both programs ascend to the top-25 of the ITA team rankings in three-or-fewer seasons.

He began his coaching career at Texas A&M as a volunteer assistant, followed by two seasons at the University of Arkansas as the graduate assistant.

Sullivan and his wife, Caroline, have three daughters, Vera, Maya, and Diana.
