Ravaioli-Larkin Tabs Ahrens as Assistant Coach

FORT WORTH – TCU head women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin announced the hire of Kendall Ahrens as an assistant coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Ahrens replaces Andrea Kaelin, who was tabbed the head women's golf coach at Tulane.

Originally from Montgomery, Texas, Ahrens spent the last two seasons as an assistant women's golf coach at James Madison University.

"I am so excited to have Coach K join our Frog Fam," Ravaioli-Larkin said. "I had so many people who I trust and admire call me on her behalf! She will fit right in with our culture and competitive spirit. She brings positive enthusiasm, a diligent work ethic and a heart of gold to serve and lead!"

Ahrens played an integral role in fostering a resurgent two years at JMU.

JMU produced just one team victory in 2020-21 prior to Ahrens' arrival in Harrisburg. The Dukes doubled their win total from the previous season in Ahrens' first year in Harrisburg, as the team nabbed two wins and accumulated four top-five finishes. JMU broke every single-season program record during the 2021-22 season, including the lowest combined scoring average (293.03) in school history. With Ahrens in an assistant coaching role, JMU ascended 29 spots in the Golfstat Team Ranking, rising from No. 109 to No. 80.

This past season, the Dukes collected three tournament victories and produced four top-five finishes. Ahrens also coached Kendall Turner to the NCAA Raleigh Regional, where she placed T37.

"I could not be more excited and honored to be joining the TCU Family," Ahrens said. "I would like to thank Coach Larkin for this amazing opportunity to step in and continue building on the success of this program - she has accomplished so much in her time here with the Horned Frogs and I feel extremely blessed to get the opportunity to coach alongside her.

"The culture she has created within the women's golf program is one that no doubt produces success," Ahrens continued. "I am looking forward to learning and growing in this position as we lead this group of talented young women and those to come. TCU is an incredible place and I feel very blessed to be coming back home! God Bless Texas and Go Frogs!"

Before arriving in Harrisburg, Ahrens spent two years at Mississippi State, her alma mater, first as a student coach and operations fellow before being promoted to interim assistant coach.

Ahrens and her husband, Ryan, were married in 2021.
