FORT WORTH – A trio of TCU women's rifle team members have earned a combined nine CRCA All-America honors.
Stephanie Grundsoee and
Julie Johannessen were tabbed first-team All-Americans in smallbore, air rifle and aggregate.
Katie Zaun earned first team honors in air rifle and smallbore and was named second-team in aggregate.
For Grundsoee, she wraps up her four-year award eligibility as a 12-time first-team All-American. Both Johannessen and Zaun earn All-American distinction in their freshman campaign. Super seniors
Kristen Hemphill and
Abigail Gordon were not eligible for All-America status.
Grundsoee finished the season with the third-highest aggregate average nationally (1,187.9). She also ranked third nationally in smallbore average (590.7) and fifth nationally in air rifle average (597.2).
Johannessen fired two perfect 600s in air rifle and set NCAA records in smallbore (598) and aggregate score (1,198) in her debut season. Johannessen, who led the nation in smallbore average at 592.31, finished the season with the fourth-highest air rifle average (597.38) and the second-highest aggregate average (1,189.69).
Zaun had an outstanding freshman campaign. She ranked sixth nationally in air rifle average (596.46) and 11
thin smallbore average (588.00). Her season aggregate average of 1,184.46 ranked sixth nationally.
TCU finished as the National Runner-Up for the third straight season.
