Former offensive line standout is the 23rd Horned Frog to win a Super Bowl championship ring

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Former TCU offensive lineman Lucas Niang became the latest Horned Frog to be a Super Bowl Champion when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35, on Sunday night in Super Bowl LVII.

Twenty-three Horned Frogs have won Super Bowl championship rings. Twelve different TCU players have been on Super Bowl winning teams in the last 17 seasons.

Niang was a third-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2020. He played in eight games this season, including Super Bowl LVII. He made nine starts while appearing in 12 contests for Kansas City last year.

Niang was a four-year letterman (2016-19) for the Horned Frogs and an All-Big 12 selection in 2018. He played in 44 games with 27 starts in his TCU career and did not allow a sack in his final two years.

TCU has had at least one player in the Super Bowl in nine of the last 10 seasons.
