TYLER, Texas -- TCU running back
Emani Bailey is a semifinalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, presented to a player who was either born in Texas, graduated from a state high school or plays at a Texas-based university.
Bailey's 1,209 yards rushing tie for 13th nationally and are ninth-most in a season at TCU. The Denton, Texas, native also topped the Horned Frogs with eight rushing touchdowns and six 100-yard games, including 150 in the season finale at Oklahoma. He placed fifth on the Horned Frogs with 25 receptions.
Bailey averaged 100.8 rushing yards per game. The 82.9 improvement over his 17.9 mark last season ranks as the third-largest in the nation in 2023. Bailey's 1,209 yards more than quadruple his total of 250 from last year when he played behind NFL bound
Kendre Miller (New Orleans Saints) and
Emari Demercado (Arizona Cardinals).
With Trevone Boykin (2014) and
Max Duggan (2022) as past honorees, TCU is tied for the national lead in most recipients of the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
