Fort Worth: TCU Swim and Dive swept the weekly big 12 awards for the second time this season following some impressive performances in Hawaii.
The Women's Conference Newcomer of the Week went to freshman
Lauren Cey. She dove on the 1-meter boards earning a Zone cut with a score of 275.78. Her newcomer of the week honor is the first Big 12 award of her career.
On the men's side, freshman
Peter Horton garnered his first conference award as a Frog. In three events, Horton placed at worst top two in his events. His lone win of the meet came in the 50 freestyle (20.75). Horton aided the Frogs to two second-place finishes in relay events. In the 200 medley relay, Horton's anchor leg guided TCU to second. Horton's third leg in the 400 free relay also pushed the Frogs to second place.
Anna Kwong led the charge taking home gold on the boards in both diving events. On the 1-meter, Kwong dove a score of 319.88 for first place. On the 3-meter Kwong dove 323.03 winning by over 27 points.
Alec Hubbard placed in the top three in both diving events. Hubbard finished in third on the 1-meter with a score of 399.00. The sophomore continued to perform with a second-place finish on the 3-meter boards (356.85).
The Frogs finished up the Big 12 weekly awards with men's and women's swimmers of the week.
Piotr Sadlowski won each of his three events in Hawaii. His efforts in the 200 medley relay earned the Frogs a first-place finish in the event. He also swam as the third leg in the frogs' first-place team in the 400 freestyle relay. Individually, he swam a first-place time in the 100 fly. (49.01).
Olivia Rhodes wrapped up the honors for the Frogs with a first-place swim in the 50-yard freestyle. In the 200 medley relay, her final leg edged the Frogs to a second-place finish (1:45.07). She set the pace in the 200 freestyle relay leading the Frogs to second place (1:36.10).
